WhatsApp Business API — purpose and usage
We use the WhatsApp Business API to send and receive messages to users who have given explicit consent (opt-in). Use cases include event notifications, booking confirmations, ticketing information, support messages, and transactional alerts. We do not send marketing messages to users who have not opted in.
What data we collect
- Phone number (required for WhatsApp messaging)
- Message content and timestamps
- Basic profile information provided by the user (e.g., name) and any information you submit in forms
- Usage metadata (delivery status, read receipts)
Legal basis
We process personal data where necessary to perform a contract, to comply with legal obligations, or based on your consent (opt-in for messages). For legitimate business communications (transactional or necessary event updates) we rely on contract/performance and legitimate interests.
Opt-in and opt-out
Users must explicitly opt in to receive messages via WhatsApp. To opt out, reply with the word "STOP" to any message, use the unsubscribe link we provide where applicable, or contact us at info@evenza.net. We will process opt-out requests promptly and stop sending further messages except where required for transaction confirmations or legal obligations.
Sharing and third parties
We may share information with:
- Meta (Facebook/WhatsApp) as needed to operate the WhatsApp Business API;
- Service providers and subprocessors who assist with messaging, hosting, analytics, and payments;
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by law.
Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Typical retention for messaging logs is 12 months unless a longer period is required.
Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data. However, no internet or email transmission is ever fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
